The Centre of Children's Nursing Education

The report of the Commission on Nursing recommended the establishment of Centres of Nursing education providing a range of educational and training services to nurses in the health services.

Following on from the work of the National Implementation Group (2006) Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin was designated as the Centre for Children's Nurse Education (CCNE) in partnership with the satellite centres in the Children's University Hospital, Temple Street and The National Children's Hospital, AMNCH, Tallaght to service the general requirements for children's nursing education in Dublin.  In addition the CCNE will provide specialist programmes related to children's nursing as required nationally. 

The CCNE and the satellite hospitals will play a key role in supporting and developing children's nursing staff in the clinical area to which children's nursing students are assigned.
