The aim of this section is to provide guidelines and templates for submissions to the Nursing Information Research Exchange (NIRE).
The submission guidelines include:
- General guidelines.
- Abstract guidelines.
- Article guidelines.
- Research guidelines.
- Literature guidelines.
- Poster guidelines.
- Quality Initatives, reports etc. guidelines.
- e learning module guidelines.
- Author details guidelines.

To use the templates.
At the end of each submission guidelines a word document will be attached within the Related files at the end of the webpage.
Save the template for use
- Click on the template document e.g. ‘Authors Details template.doc’.
- Then Click on Save.
- Using the automatic instructions:
- Chose where the document is to be saved ‘Save In’
- Chose the name you wish it to be called in ‘Save As’. You can leave it with its original name.
- Click Save

Use the template
- Open the folder where you have saved the document.
- Click and open the document.
- Complete the document as relevant.
- Close and save the changes.

Validation of content
All work to be published to the website will be peer reviewed appropriately. This will be facilitated via the partners Nurse Practice Development departments.
- If this submission is for an article for the NIRE the author must include:
- The names of two colleague’s external to our organisation that could be contacted to peer review the article.
- The author should be willing to peer review an article for these colleagues if the need arises.
- All work except lists events and news published on the NIRE website will be link to author(s) details for validation.

For work previously submitted to a college or conference etc. please include:
- Institution etc. submitted to e.g. Trinity College.
- Date of submission, publication etc. (year).
- For what it was submitted e.g. for partial completion of a MSc in Health Informatics (1st year).
- Identify if it is a report, dissertation, assignment etc.
- When it was accepted and passed.
Using the NIRE System to supply content
The NIRE website uses a user friendly system to insert its content. It requires no ICT technical skills only basic knowledge of word. If you:
- are a member of a NIRE partner organisation,
- wish to supply e learning or decision support content,
- plan to supply regular content,
you may wish to recieve training on using system in order to supply content to the NIRE.
