The Irish Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare (ISQSH) Programmes

The Irish Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare (ISQSH) was founded in 1994 and is a not-for-profit, members based charitable organisation that exists to promote quality and safety improvement throughout the Irish health service.  It:

  • Currently has in excess of six hundred members nationwide.
  • Represented on the board of the Health Information and Quality Authority.
  • Has a membership base is that is interdisciplinary, spread across all geographic areas within the country and includes public, voluntary and private sector representation.

It aims to:

  • Enable networking and sharing information and best practice in healthcare.
  • Actively support the current reform agenda.
  • Support the Executive and the newly established HIQA in a number of practical and yet imaginative ways.

The Irish  Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare aims to provide core education and training services which are evidence based, relevant and practical to healthcare provider needs. They offer an comprehensive and integrated suite of action learning programmes that centre on building system, organisational and individual capacity in continuous quality improvement with a focus on the patient journey, eliminating waste and adding value to what we do.

Core Programmes centre on:

  • Introduction to Continuous Quality Improvement including problem solving, the science of improvement and understanding systems and processes.
    • Duration of this  programme is one day.
    • The cost will be 2000 Euro for the day for a minimum of 15 persons and max 20 persons.

  • Using Process mapping to analyse healthcare systems and adopt a practical approach for measurable improvement.
    • Duration of this training is one stand alone day with a follow up half day action workshop, which will entail feedback on action projects. 
    • The cost will be 2600 Euro for 15 persons minimum and up to 20 persons max.

  • Developing and using skills and tools to improve the patient's journey through the use of Integrated Care Pathways   (Icp's) 
    • Duration of this training is one stand alone day with a follow up half day action workshop, which will entail feedback on action projects. 
    • The cost will be 2600 Euro for 15 persons minimum and up to 20 persons max.

  •  Process Mapping and Integrated Care pathways are offered to organisations and groups as action learning workshops where the learning can be readily applied and evaluated in real organisational settings and for on the ground improvement, therefore these will be  a one day stand alone programme with  a follow up half day for evaluation of action projects.
    • These  programmes  will be run in-house. Costs include training packs and feedback of action projects from our experts.
    • Theses programmes can be booked as separate modules  but we recommend the three programmes as  a package as Continuous Quality Improvement Tools are fundamental to understanding both Process Mapping and Integrated Care Pathways.
    • We can offer this package over three and a half days at a reduced rate of 5500Euro for 15 persons minimum and up to 20 persons max.
