All Ireland Practice & Quality Development Database
The National Council for the Professional development for Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) and the Northern Ireland Practice and Education Council for Nursing and Midwifery (NIPEC) have collaborated to promote the sharing of good practice on an All-Ireland basis.
They have developed a database 'Development of Practice' which will be accessible from both organisations websites.

Appraisal of Guidelines Research and Evaluation - AGREE
This link connects to the homepage of AGREE. It is an international collaboration of researchers and policy makers who aim to work together to improve the quality and effectiveness of clinical practice guidelines by establishing a shared framework for their development, reporting and assessment. It started in 1998 as a research project ‘Appraising clinical guidelines' under the Biomedicine and Health Research (BIOMED 2) Programme, funded by the European Union - www.cordis.lu/biomed/home.html . The project was coordinated by the Department of Public Health Sciences at St George's Hospital Medical School www.sghms.ac.uk and ended in June 2001. The main objective was to develop an appraisal instrument to assess clinical guidelines and to harmonise guideline development across Europe in order to minimize duplication of efforts.
In November 2002 the AGREE Collaboration received additional funding from the Accompanying Measures EU funded programme of the 5 th Framework until April 2004 to further disseminate and implement the AGREE Instrument. This was again coordinated by the Department of Public Health Sciences at St George's Hospital Medical School in London. The central aim of the project was to enhance effective health care policy in Europe by promoting the diffusion of a comprehensive approach to the production, dissemination and evaluation of high-quality clinical guidelines through established networks

TRIP Database
This link connects to the login page of the TRIP Database, which is a medical Internet resource. It was created as a result of the explosion of 'evidence based’ materials being published. It aims to provide a high-quality resource that allows unhindered access to the publication. The Title, URL and Date of Publication is recorded and added to the database. Subsequently the URL is 'spidered' and this process 'captures' the relevant text from the site and uses that to allow text searching. It should be noted that users could use the database for 5 free searches per week
Zetoc
Zetoc aims to provide access to the British Library's Electronic Table of Contents of around 20,000 current journals and around 16,000 conference proceedings published per year. The database covers 1993 to date, and is updated on a daily basis. It includes an email alerting service, to enable you to keep up-to-date with relevant new articles and papers. In addition once you have found an article of interest, the full record page provides three links to help you access the full text.
