Resource and Information Centre

The Nursing Information Research Exchange (N.I.R.E.) Website Resource Centre aims to provide:

  • Widely accessible information, research and resources for the nursing profession.
  • Links to resources based on the needs of nurses.
  • Links to evidence based resources.
  • Links to a Warehouse of published and unpublished nursing research.

This is in order to support the nursing profession facilitating the:

  • Standardisation of practice.
  • Enhancement the quality of care delivery.

Purpose:
The purpose of the Resource Centre is to provide:

  • Direct links to web resources, which are of interest to nurses.
  • Abstracts for articles, research, dissertations, and literature reviews.

Web links:
Web links are provided as a matter of convenience only. They are separated into subject areas:

  • Listed alphabetically.
  • Then alphabetically by title, within each subject heading.
  • Each site listing has a short description. These should not be regarded as an endorsement by the Nursing Information Research Exchange of the content or services provided by the external Website and/or its owners. The user must establish the applicability of any of the contained resources before using them. The Nursing Information Research Exchange is not responsible for any information provided by these external Websites.

Warehouse:
The centres Warehouse contains abstracts that are either linked to:

  • Full text versions as part of the e learning section. Access requires registration.
  • Contact and biographical details of the author. Access requires registration.

Each abstract will identify the author by name.
Abstracts are:

  • Listed alphabetically by subject.
  • Alphabetical by types e.g. article, dissertation etc.
  • Then chronologically by date.
  • Lastly alphabetically by author.

The user must establish the applicability of any of the contained information before using it. The Nursing Information Research Exchange is not responsible for any information provided. We have made every possible effort to ensure that all of the information and materials provided via theses resources is true, accurate, complete and up-to-date at the time of publication.
